The vocabulary required to ask for and give directions extends the prepositions of place studied in cardinal prepositions and the imperative forms covered in the imperative polite and collective and the imperative informal. Comprendre les réponses
Directions are often given in the imperative, and object pronouns may replace known locations: Vous le prenez à droite (le = le bus). Imperative commands include Prenez la rue and Continuez tout droit. Distance is expressed with à pied: C'est à cinq minutes à pied (it's a five‑minute walk).
