Describing Physical Appearance
Body parts are often used with the verb avoir to describe a person’s features: Il a les yeux bleus. Elle a de longs cheveux noirs. The verb être introduces general physical characteristics: Il est grand. Elle est mince. For the conjugation of avoir and être, see the verb avoir and the verb être.
