The expressions il y a, c'est, and j'ai, together with prepositions of location, are used to describe the placement of furniture within a room.

- Dans ma chambre, il y a un grand lit et une petite table de nuit.
- Le canapé est dans le salon, devant la télévision.
- Nous avons un nouveau réfrigérateur dans la cuisine.
- Est-ce qu'il y a un lave-linge dans l'appartement ?

Examples

Dans mon salon, il y a un canapé gris, une table basse et une grande télé.
Furniture with a colour adjective: canapé gris (masculine, gris invariable) and size adjective grande.
